Wood Scraper

$30.00

Although that title is a flawlessly accurate description of this lovely object, I’ll elaborate on why I like it. In the history of art there are several anomalies that pop up that are difficult to describe historically or phenomenologically. One of the more aesthetically interesting is the art of the Cyclades from around 3000BCE to 2000BCE. More abstracted than almost anything thousands of years in either direction it is still not understood how this style of depiction was derived or where it went. Were it made of stone and 5000 years old this small scraper would fit squarely within the oeuvre of Cycladic artisans. But probably some dude in his garage used it to scrape paint and shit off his other shit. Now its pretty.
