Bisque Skull on Book
Circa 1950 bisque skull on a book from Occupied Japan. This particular size was possibly a cane topper or packaging accent but could have just as easily been a trinket. There are copious books on Occupied Japan imports but they almost always are lacking in any information on the actually cool pieces from this time, the skulls and devils and metal shit like that. I know these come in at least four sizes and several variations (hats and whatnot) but I haven’t found any resources on the variations besides my own collection a few other collects. Sorry no puns I just really love these things a lot and have collected them for years.
